    A Resolution
    to establish the office of Chaplain of the Senate, and for other purposes.


    Section 1 – Establishment.
    (1) Diese Resolution schafft das Amt des Kaplans des Senats (Chaplain of the United States Senate).
    (2) Er leitet – in Absprache und ständigem Austausch mit Vertretern der anderen Religionsgemeinschaften, ggf. gemeinsam mit einem etwaigen Kaplan des Repräsentantenhauses – die Kapelle des Hauses, führt Gedenkveranstaltungen durch und steht zur seelsorgerischen Beratung der Mitglieder und Mitarbeiter des Senats zu Verfügung.


    Section 2 – Appointment.
    (1) Der Kaplan soll durch Resolution des Senats für eine einjährige Funktionsperiode gewählt werden.
    (2) Der Senat hat Reverend Michael J. Portham zum Kaplan des Senats gewählt.
